Don’t use your retirement money to pay off your credit card bills

Don’t use future money for past debt (Bankrate.com via Yahoo! Finance)
Another great column from the Debt Adviser. The couple in debt is scolded for spending their retirement savings to pay their credit card bills.Â
In a word - DON’T!
You will need this money to retire on. You need to find different ways to pay your bills. Work overtime, get a second job or cut down your expenses. Do what you have to do and avoid spending your future money on today or yesterday’s debt.
If you’re unable to do this and credit counseling doesn’t work you may need to consider bankruptcy that way you can save your retirement funds.

Keep your paws off the retirement account, says the Debt Adviser. It won’t solve the fundamental problem of too much spending.
