Trend trading is trading with trends, but a beginner must understand what trends are and how to follow them.
Technical analysis is beneficial whether we’re selling or buying, no matter what kind of security is traded. This is the analysis of the way securities change throughout time. The trends are up, like a bull’s horns, in a bull market. When we speak of a bear market, similar to a bear’s paws, trends are down.
There is usually a decent amount of ups and downs throughout any trading day. In trend analysis, the bottoms of each valley during a specified period are examined.
Analysts will use a graph to plot low values of a period of time, they may also utilize computer software for plotting. If the lower values continuously lessen, there will be an upward trend over time.
Identifying or studying trends may be used to make a decision on when to enter or exit a market. While both short- and long-term traders use trend analysis, a long-term trader will use it more than he will use any other system.
Past lessons have proven that if stocks are held for two or three decades, then the investor can bank on a secure investment. For the past three years the market has been bear, thus, the trend is down.
Many of the investors who have recently lost money still have overall profits, if they entered the market when it was down. Lucky investors were able to exit the market with maximum profits by being able to identify the new trend .
When there are consistent upward trends for weeks to years, then valleys appear to flatten, a lot of investors opt to sell then. For a download trend flat-line is believed as a pre-cursor. They’ll be right sometimes but wrong on other occasions. Trend trading for only small time spans amounts to little more than gambling. Sometimes you are victorious, and sometimes you fall in defeat.
Today’s software makes using trends easier than ever. Once, advisors and analysts kept their eyes glued to the market around the clock, and they were the people in whom we placed our trust.
Trend trading is easy to define. It is easier to identify trends and capitalize on them.
